Using aftermarket head unit, but using Monsoon amp?

    Is it possible to use the monsoon amp still with an aftermarket head unit?

    I got wiring adapter for head unit, but not sure how to install it ( well i know how to connect the wires together ) just a little confused about the speakers.

    Do i still just connect the speaker connectors to the speaker connectors on the head unit?

    Do i need to turn on remote wire to turn on the monsoon amp?

    If i bail out an decide not to use the monsoon amp. it looks like 8 gauge wire going into it, can i just use that as power for external amp?

    I read the stereo install instructions first before posting and it wasnt clear to me..

    Going into 2000 passat wagon with single din tape / rear cd changer..

    2. look for a wiring harness like the metra to plug the stock connectors into, then you solder the harness that came with the radio with the other harness

    5. don't really know what you mean by that, but I have never heard of anyone doing that
    So, long story short, just solder the two harnesses together, then plug them in, and you are set
