Ok, so I have a 2000 328i and I'm trying to install an aftermarket headunit. I've removed the stock unit and tested to make sure my headunit slid in without a problem - it did. However, with the wires attached, I cannot seem to get the unit to slide in (all the wires bunch up in the back and I can't slip it in all the way).

The only thing I can see is possible removing the center vents so that I can get at the top of the unit and move the wires as it slide back, but I can't figure out how to remove them (without breaking them).

Anyone who has done or knows how to do this or if you have another suggestion, please I need help. I've installed dozens of radios and know the audio stuff pretty well, but I've never seen anything like this. The space is so small. I'm frustrated beyond belief after messing with it for 7 hours.

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, its a JVC KD-BT1 (single DIN) I'm installing if it matters.
