i've purchased some new grille inserts that have fog lights and everything included to run the wires back to a switch (also included) in the drivers compartment. this switch will be separate from the original headlight one because i didn't want to replace it.

my main question is, where would be a good spot to drill the new hole for the wire to run through the firewall. i'm also assuming there's already some wires comming through and id probably be able to push it through that existing hole which i would prefer. car is a 2004 jetta gl. havnt been able to disassemble the car to look myself because its freezing balls outside.

First off wait for the warmer weather..Secondly there are quite a few areas that go through the firewall up under the dash, just remember if you use a coat hanger or wire to that effect remember to go slow, you dont need to be causing a short in an area you cant see. Also make sure there is no metal to wire contact around the hole(chaffing)
Sometimes its easier to buy a small rubber grommet cut the center out, drill a hole(checking both sides of the firewall) and running the wire through it...either way..good luck
