I have Sony CDX-A250 with rear 6x9 speakers driven by 300Wamp. Every thing works fine unitl engine is turned off and system is running from battrey. Although battery is little weak but works well to drive audio system.

The problem arises whenever i start my car and drive, i can feel significant bass loss. I can't say it's completely gone but it doesn't feel solid bass as it feels when engine was turned off.

there is no alternator whine or any other distortion. Tell me if it is really a problem ?

This system is in a boat and consists of the following:

Kicker KMT6 Long Range Speaker System
LINK

These are listed as a Frequency Response Range of 50-21k.
They are powered by a Kicker ZX 200.2 AMP.

There are also 4 Kicker KM-620 Coaxial Drivers inside the boat.
These are listed as a Frequency Response Range of 35-21k.
They are powered by a Kicker ZX 200.4 AMP.

There are the 2 Kicker 10L5 subs being powered by a Kicker ZX-750.1
These are dual 2 ohm subs wired as a 2 ohm load to the AMP.

There is a Sony Head Unit feeding a Kicker KQ5 EQ with
5 frequency ranges:
Bass 40Hz-90Hz
Midbass 125Hz-250Hz
Lower Midrange 300Hz-750Hz
Upper Midrange 1kHz-4kHz
Treble 6kHz-20kHz
Cut/Boost ±12dB
Input Sensitivity 950mV-9.6V
Output Level 7.0Vrms

The question is now that I have everything powered up and playing how do I begin to set everything?

Should AMP 1 and AMP 2 be set to HI-PASS or FULL RANGE?

Also what are some good basic starting points for setting the EQ?

The instructions for setting the gains on the EQ are bit confusing but I think I have that part done correctly. Getting the correct frequencies to the speakers seems a bit tougher. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Does anyone of you know any hands free car kit besides parrot? I know, I know. Parrot is the best but don't have much money for it yet. Its expensive for me as of now.

I know it is a little lame … I have a regular radio + cd changer in my car. There is no headphones input in the system. I am planning to somehow connect my ipod (using the auxiliary audio cable) to the radio and listen to mp3 using my car loudspeakers. I was thinking that since I can listen to the radio now .. I could split the cables somehow, install the jack input I need and this way be able to listen to mp3 in my car. Do you think it is doable ..is there some other, easier way of doing it ? thanks altima2001

The car is an 03 sentra. I have in the doors Memphis MSQ5 run off a 200 watt amp. I built a center pod in the dash and installed a Memphis PR 5 1/4 (4 ohm speaker). It is bridged off of the headunit. (I plan on installing an amp/center channel processor one day) The problem I have is being how close it is to my ears it out plays the MSQ's. I read somewhere I can put a 4 ohm resister inline with the PR to make it softer. Possible?

i just recently bought a wired fm modulator for my zune.....i hooked everything up(bolted the ground to metal) at first i attached the power to my decks power but it got bad sound quality, so i thought it was lack of power...i then attached the power to the fuse relay box, which my amp and subs are hooked up to...and its still buzzing! its horrible on acoustic songs and softer songs...i am using a high quality cable from the modulator to my zune so its not that....im thinking it might be that my car doesnt get very good radio reception...but i thought these things were supposed to input it directly into the radio....someone please help me!!!they want me to drive to where i bought it to get it checked out which is 200 miles away,, with gas prices thats just not possible, thanks anyone who helps
