my Toyota Camry 2009 came with an auxiliary input jack pre-installed in my car. I was wondering how I can use that with my iPod. Do I need to buy a cord?

OK...Yahoo's free, and Google costs...but Google Answers gives great service and high-quality. Will Yahoo Answers do the same?

Hi,

I've just completed a project on the head unit of my 9-3 to provide an auxiliary audio input for my iPod. This is a variation on a couple of themes from this forum - you basically replace the audio signals from the head unit's CD player (I haven't seen instructions for this, hence my post).

You don't need to cut any wires or tracks, and the mod is completely reversible, though the soldering needs a steady hand ! In it's current form you insert any old CD in the player to get it going, but the iPod/MP3 player gets routed to the amplifier, not the CD (who cares if you can't play a CD - you've got them all on your iPod !). I have an idea for a dual-purpose mod, which doesn't need a switch, but haven't tried it yet.

Is anyone interested ? If so I can post instructions and pictures on a blog somewhere.

Cheers,

Now-a-days cars include an auxiliary input jack to connect different audio sources to the car’s stereo. What new products are coming in the market to use this feature?

Hi there! What do you think would be better, an aux or a blue tooth interface for your car? I've experienced using both. In fact I'm gonna buy a new one. I asked since I find aux to be very reliable. As for blue tooth, i have to say, there are really times when it just disconnects. Very irritating for me. Still, blue tooth seems to be the choice of all... So... Penny for your thoughts?

Where you have the little plug that says aux in and you plut in your mp3 or whatever to that and then put the stereo onto aux and out comes your mp3 player

or does it mean something else?

thanks
