Nissan – Infiniti MP3 / iPod Interface Review – AAI-NIS2 / PXNI

A very good Nissan – Infiniti MP3/iPod interface is the PAC AAI-NIS2 and the Peripheral Electronics PXNI. I am giving you the part numbers from two different companies. Other than their packages, these interface are exactly the same. This interface allows for two auxiliary inputs, neither of which allow for control of the iPod from the factory radio. This is no big deal, most of the Nissan – Infiniti iPod interfaces with iPod control give you very limited functionality anyway.

The AAI-NIS2/PXNI works with XM/Sirius Satellite ready Infiniti and Nissan factory radios. It allows audio from devices like iPods, MP3 players, Portable CD players, DVD players or aftermarket satellite receivers to play through the stock stereo system. This interface will work with or without the factory satellite radio installed.

Here is a list of compatible vehicles:

2003-2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe Only – MP3/iPod Interface
2003-2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan Only – MP3/iPod Interface
2003-2007 Infiniti FX35 / FX45- MP3/iPod Interface
2004-2006 Infiniti QX56- MP3/iPod Interface
2006-2007 Infiniti M35 / M45 – MP3/iPod Interface
2003-2008 Nissan Murano – MP3/iPod Interface
2004-2007 Maxima – MP3/iPod Interface
2004-2006 Nissan 350Z – MP3/iPod Interface
2003-2006 Nissan Pathfinder – MP3/iPod Interface
2004-2006 Nissan Titan / Armada / Quest – MP3/iPod Interface
2005-2006 Nissan Altima / Frontier – MP3/iPod Interface

I have installed this interface on almost all the vehicles on the list. It has never let me down. It worked perfectly on every vehicle.

This interface is very simple to install. It has very clear instructions and is completely “Plug and Play”. Once the radio is removed, all you have to do is remove the main power harness and the satellite radio harness (if equipped), and plug the interface harnesses in line. From there you can connect 2 Auxiliary devices. You can use a dedicated iPod interface cable or a stereo 1/8″ (3.5mm) phono to RCA cable.

The AAI-NIS2/PXNIis a very good adapter. Even though it does not allow control of an iPod, I would still highly recommend this interface. The reason being, most iPod interfaces that allow control of the iPod are not compatible with the factory satellite radio, which means the satellite radio will have to be removed.
